“We had recently acquired a modest late nineteenth century mansion in a historic Philadelphia neighborhood, and Marie was recommended to us as a color consultant by our painting contractor. She responded immediately, introducing herself and carefully soliciting our background information via e-mail. She even invited us to send photos of some of our fine art and a few representative pieces of our current furniture.
When we met in our new property, Marie was highly professional and personable. She took good time to get to know us and the spaces, and she helped us name some of the key opportunities and challenges with light, color and texture in a nuanced and organic way, but in plain speech.
Marie ventured one or two specific suggestions, and within 30 minutes our conversation evolved to a 'family' of color treatments which promised significant enhancements of particular first floor rooms, in a kind of complementary array that could be used flexibly throughout the house. She communicated our color selections promptly and clearly to us and to the contractor.
Our results on two floors, across some 3000 square feet, are fantastic--and we were so well funded in terms of color and mix and match options that we carried out a version of that same array in large spaces on the third floor of the home.
